UIW FILM Club

Award Winning Student-Run Film Club

The UIW Film Club is a student-run organization dedicated to giving students experience in the art of filmmaking. Started in 2017, the club has had multiple students go on to work on full-length feature films produced in the San Antonio area. To hone their skills, the club competes in 48-hour film festivals, produces shorts written by members, and offers workshops on camera operation, screenwriting, and editing. The UIW Film Club welcomes students from all departments across campus.

UIW Adds Film Concentration

The University of the Incarnate Word now offers a Film concentration option as part of its Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts degree program. The program blends theory-driven and experience-based classes to prepare students to work in the field of film production. Students are able to cultivate their directorial voice and art form through an intense, hands-on approach to filmmaking.  Our small classroom environments provide students with personalized instruction and support.
