March 17, 2021 – Madalyn Skye Mendoza was named “Best Social Media Follow for All Things SA” in the “Best of the City” for San Antonio Magazine.

Mendoza concentrated in journalism and was active in student media at UIW.

The citation for Mendoza – listed among other notables – reads: “Spurs fandom, local culture and breaking news go hand-in-hand on the Instagram (@maddyskye10) and Twitter (@maddyskye) feeds of Maddy Skye Mendoza, ‘the face of MySA’ and a UIW grad. Whether she is Instagramming a local street mural or the newest foodie hotspot or tweeting practical information locals can use about COVID-19 and other news. Mendoza bridges her life as a reporter with her love of San Antonio to create connection with readers and digital followers alike.

Sharing her reaction to the listing on Facebook, Mendoza said she was “truly stunned to be mentioned with these local legends. You’re my whole heart, San Antonio! I’ll brag on this city forever.”
